Assistant Buyer - Gravesend

We have an opportunity for an experienced Assistant Buyer to join our procurement team based in our European Head office in Gravesend, Kent.

Main responsibilities include

To provide support to the Category Buyers within the Procurement Department, to expedite all systems and processes to deliver the following in the most cost-effective way (this is not an exhaustive list): -

  • Assist in Identifying suitable suppliers and obtaining quotations in line with stakeholder requirements and in accordance with company procedures

  • Assist in managing the bid process to ensure the effective operation of the business at the best value, to meet the scope and specification provided by the budget holder

  • Assist in identifying opportunities for cost reductions, removal of waste and improved efficiencies through innovation

  • Process and release purchase orders for direct and indirect materials and services

  • Set up and maintain pricing files and source lists within SAP

  •  Investigate and resolve invoice queries where applicable

  • Maintain all relevant documentation in accordance with set standards

  • Continually review and Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce administration and add value

  • Generation and dissemination of general reports to relevant stakeholders

  • Expedite order receipts and maintain order acknowledgment reports

  • Assist in ensuring that all suppliers are aligned with Moove’s codes of conduct for specified standards of quality, sustainability, environmental and ethical working practices and policies 

  • Assist in the investigation of supplier complaints and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders

  • Assist in maintaining supplier performance reports in accordance with the criteria set in the applicable service level agreements to ensure consistency of supply

  • Assist with market research and maintain relevant data records

  • Assist in the coordination on organisation of supplier events

  • Maintain procurement email inbox communications

  • Provide support and cover for the Procurement department as appropriate

Essential skills required

  • Degree Educated

  • Computer literate including good knowledge & experience of SAP an advantage (but not essential)

  • Problem solving

  • Health, safety & environmental awareness

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8.30 – 5.30.
