Distribution Advisor

Based in Gravesend, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Distribution Advisor for a progressive manufacturer and supplier of lubricants and chemical for the automotive industry.

This position will report to the Distribution Manager and be part of the Supply and Distribution function.

Main responsibilities include …

  • To support Distribution Manager & wider Operational Team to achieve business objectives

  • To be responsible for the efficient planning, tracking and despatch of International export and/or UK domestic orders

  • To act as an expert in the field of Export controls & customs: to work and collaborate with local Chambers of Commerce

  • To contribute as a key member of the Distribution team

  • To contribute positively in support of management by engaging in ideas to initiate change that will benefit the business in its quest for continuous improvement

  • To support colleagues to ensure all tasks are performed accurately and in a timely fashion

  • To impart knowledge across and up-line when required

  • To engage professionally with outside parties e.g. suppliers/drivers

  • To work effectively, cross-team and represent the Distribution team within the Operations Dept. and across the business as a whole

  • To respect colleagues and demonstrate personal commitment to company and group values and commitments

 In order to carry out this role, the following qualifications, skills, knowledge & experience are required…

  • Degree level qualification

  • Essential to operate MS Excel to high level, specifically operating pivot tables, V + H lookups, formulaes & Macros)

  • Must be familair with INCOTERMS (ICC 2010 rules)

  • Knowledge of UK customs significant advantage

  • Excellent written and communication skills

  • Ability to listen, consider and persuade in a positive manner

  • Well organised and methodical approach

  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines

  • Excellent time keeping
