Fuels Business Development Manager – South East and West London

We have an opportunity for a dynamic individual who can drive the new business development of one of WP Group’s fastest growing and most exciting business units.

Your role will include:

Reporting to the Business Development Sales Manager, this key member of the Business Development team will be responsible for driving the new business development of one of WP Group’s fastest growing and most exciting business units.

Responsible and accountable driving profitable and sustainable business growth through effective management and development existing and prospect accounts within the South East and West London region.

Focused on developing new and existing customer relationships, acquisition of lapsed business, providing market-leading customer service and ensuring the impact of all marketing and promotional activities are maximised.

This pivotal role, where the attainment of targets will be achieved via teamwork and the development and retention of profitable relationships will be appropriate for a proactive individual who approaches their work with energy, enthusiasm and smart thinking - applying problem solving skills to generate profitable customer focused solutions.

A brand ambassador - marketing the Moove and WP Group brands means representation of the company and the brand must exceed the highest professional standards at all times.

Key responsibilities

  • Grow fuel sales and services through spot and contract sales for companies in the East London area

  • Quote spot business with focus to capture volume while maximising sales margin

  • Understand and execute an added value long-term sales approach

  • Responsible for profitable development of existing lapsed customers

  • Respond where required to inbound requests fed from sales advisors and account managers effectively using the opportunity to upsell and cross-sell where possible

  • New business development in line with sector strategies through effective lead generation, prospect calls and prospect / customer meetings

  • Work closely with sales advisors and account managers to ensure all opportunities are captured and handled in the appropriate manner through either visit or follow up call.

  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being aware of new products and competition

  • Work with the specialist marketing team, when required, to produce targeted communications, campaigns and customer programmes

  • Work pro-actively to raise the company’s brand profile across each of your specialist target areas

Skills and Experience Required

  • 2 to 3 years’ experience in fuel sales and business development is desirable

  • Relevant business development experience in the commercial fuels sector

  • Knowledge of the East London/ Thames fuel market and key customers

  • Proven successful fuel sales track record

  • A valid UK driving licence is essential.

Personal Qualities Required

  • Effective communicator who pro-actively develops customer and internal relationships

  • High level of desire to achieve goals /targets perform in a pressurised environment

  • Keenness to learn and develop skill and core competencies is required

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs

  • Strong financial acumen and ability to analyse financial data

  • Team player who is both supportive and approachable
